Tourist Place in Karnataka-Dandeli
Dandeli is a small town located on the banks of the river Kali in the west of Karnataka. It is a beautiful tourist place in Karnataka. Although the city is small, the role of Dandeli is very important in terms of the number of tourists. Dandeli decorated with mountains, rivers, waterfalls, temples, caves, sanctuaries with facilities of various adventure sports is like a complete package of travel.
Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary
The ideal place for wildlife lovers is Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary. It is mainly located in the North Kannada district of Karnataka, which is known as the second-largest sanctuary in the state. In addition to different species of animals, you will also find a number of rare species of plants. You can see bears, black panthers, barking deer, Malabar squirrels.
This sanctuary is also a very good spot for bird lovers. About 200 species of birds can be found in this sanctuary alone in the entire Dandeli. The best time to come here is from March to October. It is open every day from 8 am to 6 pm. There is an entrance fee. Be sure to enjoy the safari at Dandeli Sanctuary. This experience will stay stored in your mind for the rest of your life.
Magod Falls
Magod Falls, also known as Magdu, is located about 16 km from Yelpur in Karnataka. The river Bedi descending from a height of about 200 meters created this waterfall. In summer, the spring water is much less. That's why it's better to go in the rain. It is fun to enjoy such a beautiful view amidst the jungle environment.
Ulavi Temple
The Ulavi temple here is especially spectacular. Every year more than one lakh pilgrims and devotees gather at the temple of Shri Ulavi Channabasbheshwar. A special ceremony is organized around the temple on the full moon of Magh. This temple is a special place of worship for the Lingayet community. The temple is located in the centre of the Western Ghats, between the towns of Dandeli and Karwar.
Anshi National Park
Anshi National Park, noted for its tiger reserve, is one of the most magnificent destinations near Dandeli. Because the River Kali runs through the reserve, it is also known as Kali Tiger Reserve. It covers 1300 square kilometres and is a well-protected area. It is a tropical rainforest that is evergreen.
While walking this road, one may see a variety of wildlife, ranging from Indian elephants to black panthers and Bengal tigers. Bintangur, Calophyllum wightianum, Malabar tamarind, Garcinia Morella, Knema attenuata, Hopea wightiana, and other common flora may also be found.
Anshi National Park is best visited from October to May, and it is open from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. There are many hiking paths in the park, and camping in the woods is also an option. Accommodations are available in tents and dormitories.
You can choose your favourite water sport, including a natural Jacuzzi, due to its proximity to the Kali river. Dandeli is well connected to Anshi National Park, and public transit is available to Dharwad, Hubli, and Bengaluru.
Apart from these, you can also visit the famous Kaval Cave, Mallikarjun Temple, Supa Dam, Mini Tibet, Shiroli Peak, Sathdi Falls, Kulgi Nature Camp, Sky Point, Maulangi Falls, Ansi National Park, Shivaji Fort, Dandelap, And you can enjoy various adventure sports including rafting, kayaking or trekking on Kali river.
How to get there:
The nearest airport is Hubli. So you can go by air, the distance will be 56 kilometers. The nearest railway station is Alnavar Junction. The distance from here to Dandelion will be 23 kilometers. You can also book a car from Bangalore. In that case, the distance will be 48 kilometers. It may take around 6-7 hours.
